New Features
A lot of Commanders told us that they would like to have more control over their drops in Strikes and other missions to prevent duplicate drops and poor luck. To address this, we are introducing a new resource type with this update – Code Fragments. These will allow you to choose what ship or research schematic you will get from playing these missions and activities.
- Blueprints that were formerly dropped at random in Strikes and Missions can now be acquired in the market and liaison offices for Code Fragments There will be 5 different types of Fragments, that can be found in different quests or missions and be used to buy the corresponding item:
- Ship Code Fragments drop in Strikes (guaranteed)
- Internal Module Code Fragments: Drop in Strikes (guaranteed)
- External Module Code Fragments: Drop in Strikes (guaranteed)
- Research Code Fragments: Drop in signal missions (50% chance)
- Officer Code Fragments: rewards for daily and weekly missions
- Code Fragments will also be assigned a Tier: T1 Strikes will drop T1 Code Fragments
- Only Officer Code Fragments don’t have a tier assigned to them
- Strikes and Signals will drop either 2 or 5 Code Fragments
- Different Strikes drop different types of fragments
Galaxy Scanning
- It is now possible to find new star systems by scanning the galaxy map
- These systems will contain special missions and asteroid belts
- Scanning is done using the same sensor module used for scanning missions and asteroid belts
- Some already existing systems are shown as partially hidden now
- You will be able to see the star, but the name or contents of the system are hidden
- Before jumping into a system, you will need to scan it
- Epic missions now only spawn in hidden systems
Skill Energy
- Active skills from bridge officers now require energy to use
- Every skill needs a different amount of energy to use
- Flagships regenerate energy over time
- When starting a mission, a flagship starts with 50% energy
Rare Earth Drops
- Rare Earth Elements (REEs) now randomly drop when refining instead of during mining
- REE drop chance & amounts are displayed in the stat list when viewing a refinery module

- Legendary officers are more likely to get higher attribute bonuses when leveling up
- Legendary officers can be recruited in the market
In-game Chat Issues
We have identified the issue of why some Commanders were not able to connect to our in-game chat: Our Chat-tool provider sets a limit on the number of Commanders who can connect to the global chat simultaneously.
For now, we have made some preliminary fixes:
- When being disconnected from the chat, it doesn’t lock but the text input is replaced by a warning
- Even if you can’t join the global chat, you will be able to join the systems or mission chat
- Even if you are not connected to global chat, you will be able to play Strikes again
- The chat will attempt to reconnect automatically after 30 seconds if you get disconnected from the chat
- Added a warning dialog when trying to join a Strike lobby without chat connection
- We added a new error message that shows when you get disconnected from chat completely and cannot play the strike as a result
- As it is an extensive issue, we will continue to work on it in the near future
